Cal EPA Headquarters Building

The City of Sacramento and Thomas Properties Group, LLC shared the same vision and enthusiasm for designing and building one of the largest green buildings in the U.S. The major goal for the project was to build green, yet remain economically competitive.

CalPERS

When the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) decided the time had to come to add more office space to complement the existing headquarters building, Lincoln Plaza in Sacramento, an exhaustive interview process began to find the right architect. The conclusion of this national interview process was the selection of Pichard Chilton to create a design that would not only encompass all of the needs and requirements of CalPERS, but just as importantly provide a structure that would give back to the community.

Lloyd D. George Federal U.S. Courthouse

The Lloyd D. George Federal Courthouse was one of the first Courthouses to be constructed after the Oklahoma City Courthouse bombing. The design challenge for Langdon Wilson was to provide a “Blast-proof” building that was still open and friendly to the general public. With much research into existing technologies and practices as well as new and developing construction methods.

Seattle City Hall

A joint venture design collaboration of Bohlin Cywinski Jackson and Bassetti Architects culminated with the final design that offered functionality, space needs for the mayor and city council, public gathering space, reception and citizen services. Community input was not only encouraged it was used to help develop the final design. The design also included as many LEED™ building techniques as possible.

Seattle Justice Center

NBBJ Architecture designed a truly unique building for the City of Seattle. The city’s goal was to have a multi-use building that would last 100 years, and at the same time would incorporate as many LEED™ building techniques as possible. NBBJ Architecture proved to be the perfect fit, as the Seattle Justice Center is now an iconic building for the city.

Design Build

Capitol East End Block 225

The Capitol East End project in Sacramento was the first in a series of planned redevelopments by the state of California. The building was awarded as a design build, with the architect working under the contractor, which is very unusual as the owner primarily retains the architect. The final design was to include specific requirements from the owner and unlike most projects, the design was concluded in a collaborative effort with the architect, contractor and Columbia Stone.

LA County Museum of Arts

When completed, LACMA will be one of the largest and most diversified museums in the United States. The Broad Contemporary Art Museum (BCAM) building is the first phase of the master plan guided by the vision of renowned architect Renzo Piano. The transformation of the entire LACMA campus was ignited with the largest single donation ever received by the museum.

Bellevue Towers Exterior

For Developer Gerding Edlen, the idea of the Joint Venture of GBD Architects and MulvannyG2 Architecture was to bring sustainable urban living and active street life to Bellevue through these two landmark high-rises. The 1.25 million square foot development delivered 550 luxury residential units in adjacent 42 story and 43 story towers offering stunning views of the Olympic Mountain Range, Mount Rainier, Lake Washington, and the Cascades.

Metropolitan

The Metropolitan is a 19-story mixed-use residential tower that sits in Portland’s revitalized Pearl District. This landmark development features a residential tower connected by a 20,000 square foot street level podium to a 4-story structure known as the Live/Work building. The podium houses a variety of retailers and blends seamlessly with the surrounding neighborhood shops and boutiques.

St. Regis Hotel and Residence

The project site, at 3rd and Mission in the southern portion of Downtown San Francisco, is one that flawlessly accents the project. It is adjacent to the Modern Art Museum, across 3rd from the Moscone Center and was seamlessly tied in with the historic Williams Building now the home of the Museum of African Diaspora.

The Eliot

The ultimate modern architecture design of the Eliot Tower began as a request from Portland’s Development Commission and the Mayors office, their opinion was that more contemporary buildings were needed downtown.

Office Buildings

Cerritos Towne Center

The Cerritos Towne Center was part of a planned development in the City of Cerritos by Transpacific Development. The completed development includes over 500,000 square feet of office space in seven buildings, including restaurants, shopping, hotels and a performing arts center. The development has transformed the downtown area of Cerritos into a center for business and entertainment. The low vacancy rate of office space in the development has confirmed that the additional space was needed.

Goat Hill

The second development project between Wright, Runstad & Company and King County, the project goal from the start was to build a LEED™ Silver class “A” office space. With King County posed to take a major portion of the new building, the expectation of the tenant was known and the design moved quickly.

SouthTowne Corporate Center II

Southtowne Corporate Center Phase II, as designed by Alfred Sofle Wilkinson and Nichols, Inc., was the second of two identical speculative “Class A” office lease space buildings built by the Workers’ Compensation Fund of Utah.

Spalding Building Lobby Renovation

This project was a lobby renovation of the Spalding Building, in downtown Portland that was originally built in 1911. Oregon State Bookstore

The OSU Bookstore on the Oregon State University campus is a two (2) story multi-use building. Its primary function is to act as the official bookstore for the university.

WSU – Compton Union Building (CUB) Renovation

Washington State University has beautified its campus, enhanced student life, integrated the latest technology, and promoted sustainability through the renovation of the 60-year-old Compton Union Building (CUB). This renovated structure is the first on campus to achieve LEED certification. Mankato Grey Limestone veneer from Minnesota has been added at the exterior of all entrances to the building, creating an attractive blend with the existing campus’ signature red brick.

Bellevue Towers Interior

Broadway House

The Broadway Residence in San Francisco, California was commissioned by a family who had purchased the largest of three lots that became available in the very exclusive area of Pacific Heights. The design was to be very traditional and be comprised of all natural materials. This concept included 100 percent of the exterior to be stone cladding and solid bronze windows. Charles T. Young utilized the steep grade of the property and the lot location to ensure ideal views including, unobstructed views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Other

Nordstrom

The Nordstrom store located in the Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas, NV was added as part of a major expansion of the mall that began in 2001. The overall expansion of the mall would ultimately double the available retail space and relocate some of its anchor tenants. Expansion would make the Fashion Show Mall the largest shopping mall in the state upon completion of the expansion in 2003.
