September 2008 – Michael Twiss was nominated to be on the Board of Directors for the MIA.

The MIA is one of the few organizations that are governed by a Board of Directors comprised of its members. There are 12 board members represented by 8 North American and 4 foreign members.

At the latest annual meeting, Michael Twiss, President/CEO of Columbia Stone, Inc. and Natural Stone Designs, Inc., was elected as a Director for Zone 7 covering Oregon, Washington, California, Nevada and Hawaii. During his first Board meeting on October 18th, 2008 he was elected to be part of the Executive Board, serving as the Treasurer for 2009. He will continue to serve as a Director of Zone 7 until 2013.

We are all proud that Mike has been elected onto the Board, and we look forward to seeing what he and the MIA will accomplish in the future.

June 2008 - Columbia Stone, Inc. celebrates its 20 year Anniversary!

Columbia Stone was started in May of 1988. Twenty years later, Columbia Stone celebrated its momentous Anniversary with a cocktail party at our main office in Tualatin, Oregon. The evening was spent with our treasured employees, contractors, architects and close business associates.

June 2008 - Columbia Stone, Inc. introduces “Dimensional Stone Quarterly”

To coincide with our historic Anniversary, Columbia Stone and Natural Stone Designs unveiled its first company newsletter, the “Dimensional Stone Quarterly”. The newsletter was created to keep the communication between the companies, employees, clients and vendors going.
